The 7:14 Movement
For the past few days, I have been in Nashville helping my mom get settled into a new home. As I was going to bed Tuesday night, I was writing in my journal about the turmoil in our nation. The verse in 2 Chronicles came to mind, “If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” Upon reading this verse, I had to examine my own heart. Have I been humbly approaching the throne during these days? Has prayer been at the forefront of my response to COVID 19? Have I been seeking God’s face? What sin have I ignored or excused? Has it been the sin of complacency? Am I guilty of just living my Christian life, doing my Christian thing, void of any thought or compassion toward what is happening in our cities and nation?
God seemed to say to me, “Note the reference for this verse.” So, I grabbed my Bible and turned to 2 Chronicles 7:14. It was as if He wanted me to especially note the numbers 7:14. I asked, “Lord, what am I to do with this?” Then I looked back at the verse, “If my people will humble themselves and pray.” I immediately thought, “That’s it! Prayer, God wants us to humble ourselves, pray, seek Him, and turn from our wicked ways—then He will hear our prayers and heal our land.” God seemed to place in my mind the idea of The 7:14 Movement and a calling to all Christians to pray at 7:14 a.m. and 7:14 p.m. each day.
“If My people…” It is as if God is saying, “In the event that my people listen and obey My Word in 2 Chronicles 7:14, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore (heal) their land.”
He is waiting for us, as His people, to pray! I want to ask you to commit to pray at 7:14 a.m. and 7:14 p.m. each and every day until we see our God restore (heal) our great land. The land of the free and the brave. The land of equal opportunity. The land where every citizen has the freedom of choice. The land founded upon Biblical truth and principles.
In. verse 8, God says, “My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.” He is waiting on us—every Christian in this great nation called The United States of America! Won’t you join me in the The 7:14 Movement and kneel the 20 inches necessary to humble yourself before God on behalf of our great country and leadership?
Blessings!
