The other morning, I slept in thirty minutes due to staying up the night before. I was warring within as to how to use the few minutes I had. My Martha wanted to accomplish the things on her list; I was having ladies over for lunch. My Mary desired to have time with the Lord. Then there was the other part of me that wanted to stay fit and trim, so I’d set a time that morning to meet a friend and walk. Martha surrendered to Mary, but not without dusting the bedroom furniture first!

As I climbed into my corner chair, I grabbed a Bible that I seldom use; it was the NIV/Message Parallel Bible. I opened to Psalm 89 and began to read in the Message, “Your love, God, is my song, and I’ll sing it! I’m forever telling everyone how faithful you are. I’ll never quit telling the story of your love—how you built the cosmos and guaranteed everything in it. Your love has always been our lives’ foundation; your fidelity has been the roof over our world.God! Let the cosmos praise your wonderful ways, the choir of holy angels sing anthems to your faithful ways. Search high and low, scan skies and land, you’ll find nothing and no one quite like God. The holy angels are in awe before him; he looms immense and august over everyone around him. God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who is like you, powerful and faithful from every angle? The Right and Justice are the roots of your rule; Love and Truth are its fruits. Blessed are the people who know the passwords of praise, who shout on parade in the bright presence of God. Delighted, they dance all day long; they know who you are what you do—they can’t keep it quiet! Your vibrant beauty has gotten inside us—you’ve been so good to us! We’re walking on air! All we are and have we owe to God, Holy God of Israel, our King!Blessed be God forever and always! Yes. Oh, yes.” Psalm 89:1-18, 52

I sat there mesmerized by these verses and that His love for me is to be my song that I sing to the world. My life is to be a song declaring His love for me and for others. As I read the first verse I thought about our grandchildren and how they love to dance around the den and sing at the top of their lungs to the Gaithers or any Christian music, for that matter. They don’t even realize that they are worshiping, singing, and expressing His love through song. They, like the choir of holy angels, are singing anthems to God. “Blessed are the “little” people who know the passwords of praise, who shout on parade in the bright presence of God. Delighted, they dance all day long; they know who You are, what You do–they can’t keep quiet!”

As His child, I am to continually proclaim His faithfulness to everyone I come in contact with. His love is the foundation of my life, and his fidelity-faithfulness and loyalty to His obligation- has been the roof- protection- over my head. I am amazed that the Creator of the universe has been so faithful to me. Truly I desire for His vibrant beauty to get inside of me. He has been so good to me! “Your vibrant beauty has gotten inside of us–you’ve been so good to us! We’re walking on air! All we are and have we owe to God, Holy God of Israel, our King!” I am walking on air! I owe everything I am and everything I have to God, the Holy God of Israel, and my King! Blessed be God forever and always! Yes. Oh, yes!”

Father, how beautiful is your Word and how applicable to my life. I truly want my life song to be an ongoing song, being sung as a witness to your love for me and your love for the world. I desire to continually proclaim your faithfulness. Your love has been my foundation and your faithfulness the roof over my head. Oh, God-of-the-Angel-Armies, there is no one like you, powerful and faithful from every angle. May it be said of my life that your vibrant beauty has gotten inside of me. You have been so good to me! I am walking on air! All I am and have I owe to You, God, Holy God of Israel, my King!Blessed be God forever and always!

“The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him.” Exodus 15:2
