“Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty ones, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness. The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic… And in His temple all the people cry, “Glory!” The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.” Psalm 29

Father, your voice is over the waters this morning, the waves lapping against the shore. Your voice is in the wind causing the branches of the giant oaks to bend to their deepest point of resistance. Your glory and your majesty shine forth in the glistening sunshine reflecting off the choppy waters. Oh Father, that I your child would reflect You as the water reflects the sun, as your creation so brilliantly reflects You. Your power and your strength are on display before me. How easy it is in this setting to worship You. How easy it is to worship You when I see the evidence of your presence, your power, and your majesty before me.

Just days ago from a distance the thunder could be heard. We watched as the deep gray clouds swiftly made their way towards us. Just moments before, there was gorgeous sunshine, gentle breezes, and the calm of the water resting against the rocks on the water’s edge. Within minutes everything changed, drops began to hit the deck, one by one changing the color of the cedar planks. Before we could successfully maneuver to take cover, your power was on display and the thunder of your might, felt and heard. The storm lasting only long enough to water the plants, wet the deck, and cause us to realize that You are continually in control of Your universe. What power, what majesty You display!

At times You interrupt, in order to show how majestic and powerful you are; as with the afternoon summer showers. Father, I have seen your power and your majesty on display in my life in the midst of the interruptions You have allowed. In your temple I shout, Glory! For You, the Creator, the Almighty God, are worthy to be worshiped in times of storms and in times of calm.

Today there is not a cloud in the sky and your voice is over the waters, your presence evident in the gentle breezes, your majesty fills this place! With the setting before me, I feel your strength and I am blessed by your peace. Father, on stormy days, clear days, windy days, or clam and peaceful days, I want to reflect You, as the choppy waters are so brilliantly reflecting the sun today. May Your presence be as evident in my life as it is in Your incredible creation. I shout, Glory! Glory!

Glory! To the King Eternal, the Majestic God, Creator of this great and awesome universe. Glory!

The word GLORY means: Praise or honor, exalted reputation, adoration, praise offered in worship, a wonderful asset, the highest of one’s triumph, to rejoice in jubilation.

Today offer Him your worship, your praise, your exaltation, your adoration, your honor, and great jubilation to the One and Only Almighty God, Creator of Heaven and Earth!
